Accurate Faith is a research-based project focused on examining commonly held Christian teachings in light of scripture and historical context.
Many widely accepted beliefs are rarely examined in terms of where they come from. Some are directly supported by scripture, while others appear to develop later through interpretation, tradition, or cultural influence.
This site exists to ask a few consistent questions:
- Is this teaching explicitly found in the Bible?
- If so, where and in what context?
- If not, where did it come from?
- How did it become widely accepted?
How Teachings Are Evaluated
Each topic is examined using the same approach:
Scripture in Context
Passages are read within their full context, not in isolation.
Explicit vs. Inferred
A distinction is made between what the text clearly states and what is being interpreted or assumed.
Consistency Across Scripture
Biblical teachings should be supported consistently, not depend on a single or unclear passage.
Origin of the Idea
If a concept is not clearly defined in scripture, its historical origin is examined.
Early Christian Comparison
Where possible, teachings are compared with early Christian understanding.
Scripture vs. Tradition
A clear distinction is made between what scripture says and what has developed over time.
Purpose
This site does not represent a specific denomination or theological system. Its purpose is to examine teachings by comparing them with scripture and documented historical context.
Each article follows the same pattern:
- Define the teaching
- Examine the scriptural basis
- Evaluate passages in context
- Identify where the idea originates
For the Reader
Readers are encouraged to examine the material carefully and compare it directly with scripture. The goal is not to replace personal study, but to support it with a clear and consistent framework.
