Over the centuries certain myths and legends have slipped into mainstream Christian faith. New archaeological discoveries, better access to ancient writings, and historical research has made it possible to identify some of the misconceptions that originated from cultural traditions and folklore, instead of the Bible. What you will find here is a careful examination of these misconceptions and enough evidence for you to separate theological rumors from accurate faith.

An ancient author tries to explain Christianity using Greek philosophy, a Medieval Pope misspeaks during a sermon, or a 17th century poet writes a fictional work about the fall of man. These small misunderstandings, errors, or fantasies are repeated over and over again through the centuries until they somehow become a part of modern Christian beliefs. These ideas do not come from the Bible, but instead are based on rumors and legends.
The faithful Christian may not even be aware that they have been taught something amiss, nor are they aware that some of these ideas actually contradict scripture. This site is about finding odd ideas that have crept into our faith, discovering where they came from, and helping Christians determine if they are truly something we should believe in or not.
As a modern Christian it can be difficult to spot and research inaccuracies that may have crept into our teachings. Where do you begin? How do you gain access to copies of ancient texts? Do you need to study both ancient Hebrew and Greek? On this site we do the research and present it to you in one place. If possible, we find where the questionable ideas came from, which scriptures are sometimes used by teachers to support the ideas, and which scriptures disprove them. When necessary, we will show you the original ancient Hebrew and Greek text.
Does This Site Have an Agenda?
Yes. Our goal is to provide detailed research on matters of faith that have been presented as facts when there is little or no scripture to support the teaching. If you have been a Christian for any length of time you will have heard many of these and probably come to believe some of them at one time or another. All of us have. The intent here is to present each case with enough information to ensure accurate faith.
